Junior Journalists at VOA!

We are pleased to offer a special version of the VOA Studio Tour, designed for 7-13 year olds. Local children voiced this version, which is based on our standard tour.

This tour includes a “Junior Journalist” packet for young visitors. It’s a type of written scavenger hunt that can also provide the basis for a brief story about VOA, its mission, and the tour experience. Answers to all the questions are found throughout the tour audio and exhibits.

After the tour, young visitors get their own Reporter’s Notebook to take with them. The Notebook is a basic "how to" on being a junior journalist, including tips on conducting interviews and balancing a news story, adding an international flavor by using greetings in some of VOA's languages, space to write a story, and even a few games.  It's a fun way to make the most of the visit!
