Tuesday, 20 June, is World Refugee Day, established by the United Nations General Assembly as a day to recognize and celebrate the contribution of refugees throughout the world.
The largest forced displacement emergency in recent years has been in Darfur, where violence has driven hundreds of thousands of Sudanese to flee to neighboring Chad. But a far great number of people remain internally displaced in Sudan. On Tuesday, at 1400 UTC, join host Rick Pantaleo in looking at the plight of these and many other refugees with his guests: Lavinia Limón, President of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants; and John Yak, a former refugee and board member of the Ayual Community Development Program.
